Beautiful woman in Pacific Beach, California is doing laundry and holding a basket of clean clothes.

So, getting laundry done in San Diego… Here we go. Monday, who loves them? Not me! Back to work, and back to reality. I was wishing I’d addressed the to-do list over the weekend, but procrastination strikes again.

Laundry. Lots of it. I needed groceries, to pick up my prescription, I’d hoped to exercise at some point, and maybe even get some actual work done #WFH.

I loaded up my dirty laundry and headed to Clean Waves Laundromat on Grand Avenue in Pacific Beach. I easily parked and went in to get started, only to realize I didn’t bring laundry detergent. Now what? I asked the employee working there, Christy, and she let me know that although individual sized packets of detergent are sold on site, she could get my clothes washed, dried, and folded for me. Better yet, the cost of detergent is included in this service, which quickly eliminated my need to start buying laundry packets or remembering to bring it for the future.

WHAT?! How could she have known this was only errand #1 of 250 on my list?

She was so kind, helpful, and let me know that all I needed to do was drop my laundry off with her, and she would take care of the rest. In fact, she could have even arranged to come pick up my dirty laundry from my home and return it to me when clean! As in… someone comes to my door, picks up all of my dirty laundry, takes it to this magical place called Clean Waves Laundromat, and then returns it all to me washed, dried, and folded! This seemed too good to be true. I left my mountain of dirty laundry with the kind Christy, and proceeded to tackle my to-do list.

Things to do in Pacific Beach while waiting for my laundry.

Just across the street is Ralphs — perfect for getting my grocery shopping done. CVS is also close by so I went in to get my prescription. It was looking like I was going to have time for some exercise!!! I jogged two blocks down to the boardwalk and was immediately greeted by a warm ocean breeze, and the sound of crashing waves. Today wasn’t just going to be the usual Monday, today was going to be a good Monday! I jogged along the boardwalk seeing all kinds of vendors and artisans. What a great place to walk your dog, bike ride, jog, and take your stroller.

I stumbled across Glazed Coffee & Creamery and decided it was time for something to eat. I sat at one of the tables and devoured my egg and cheese Beach Bomb while sipping on a cold vanilla iced coffee.

Time to go back and pick up my laundry. I headed over to Clean Waves to find all of my clothes beautifully packaged and ready to go! I loaded it into my car, and headed home to get some work done #WFH. Today, I learned that life can be simplified thanks to Clean Waves Laundromat. I also learned that Mondays don’t have to be that bad, and that I can remove laundry detergent from my grocery list for the foreseeable future.
